This wood comes from my family farm. Plum wood is beautiful and abounds in many shades of colours. A friend of mine asked me for a bowl and she picked this one. Fresh plum wood is easy to turn and it smells nice. But when plum wood is sanded it is important to check thoroughly for marks left after each grit as it can be tricky particularly when it comes with plum wood. Usually when higher grit is used, deeper scratches come out from previous sanding and they of course need resanding, which is a pain. The diameters are 22 cm x 8 cm and the thickness of the wall is 7 mm. It is finished with tung oil. I have more similar dried bowls to be finished.
